The farm owner creates an API key
Go to Manage › API keys, click Create key, name it and pick its scopes (e.g. gis.parcels.view, iot.devices.view).

Copy the key
Keys look like nfk_ + 64 characters and are shown only once. Store it in your system's secret store (environment variable, secrets manager).
